Comprehensive Review on “The Lounge” in Boston Terminal C

Overview

Our flight was delayed for 4 hours this Sunday. Rather than sitting uncomfortably near the gate doing nothing but fighting for a plug-in, I bought two access passes to “The Lounge” in Terminal C through Lounge Buddy (Use code "8ToFeeDHnU" to receive $10 credits!). This app is pretty cool especially if you use Tripit also because it can automatically sync your airport information from itinerary and provide with you which lounge you have access to and reviews. Besides, it also comes with a $25 coupon if you have Tripit Pro subscription in the end I bought a pass for two for $53 which I felt like is a pretty good deal. In this blog, I will be doing a comprehensive review on this lounge with the focus on the accessibility & availability, drinks & food, seating & view and other features.

Accessibility & Availability

Compared to some lounge which only provides the exclusive access toward certain level of elite members or card holders, The Lounge is pretty accessible in a way that it accepts a lot of different program as well as a cheap day option. From the front desk I was informed that it accepts Amex Platinum Card, Priority Pass and Star Alliance Program Status etc. Even without those status, you can easily buy a day pass through app like Lounge Buddy which opens up the opportunity for all of us. (One thing to notice here is that Lounge Buddy Pass could be a rare case for some stuff, it took us around 5 mins to show them the app and expiations)

Some lounges could be over-crowded because of the amount of people inside it, however it is not the case for The Lounge at least during my 4 hours stay here. The Lounge is so empty that two of us occupied the whole two rows of sofa seats to spread out our carry-on bags, luggage and coats to sit even more comfortably lol.

Drinks & Food

The Lounge does come with a variety choice of soft drink and liquor selection. The picture attached below shows the drink menu of what you can order:

Drawback here is the wine selection. The Lounge provides a pretty limited choice to wine lovers because it only has 4 choices. It does include some classic ones like “Pinot Grigio” and “Cabernet Sauvignon”.

Another awesome choice for the drink in term of the money return is the Perrier sparkling water. We were surprised to see they have this option so we each grab one. The retail price for this could be $5 per bottle on shopping websites.

Food-wise it is not that impressive to us. For the breakfast it comes with the standard berries selection and assorted cereals. It also has some breads and croissants but in general not impressive. The fruits besides from the berries also is kind of “expired” not that recommended.

Seating & View

Seats in The Lounge is pretty comfortable and the best part is it has different options for different types of travelers. There are majorly three parts of The Lounge – Work Zone, Comfort Zone and Sleep Zone (I name those myself, those are not anything official).
In Work Zone, you got printer and desktop which are some essential office equipment. The seats there are not as comfortable but are good enough if you want to work. The sofa seats are great for relaxing and reading newspaper and checking things on cellphone. However, if you want the next level, you can sleep in the Sleep Zone bed-type seats. (The thing here is that there are only 4 sleeping seats available so it is really hard to get a seat in this zone… but to be honest who would choose to stay in Lounge for sleep except you got 4 hours delay like me lol)

Other Features

There are also some other features included in this lounge but those are pretty standard. Besides from the things metioned above, there are following features that are worth mentioning:
-       Free Wifi
-       Capsual Coffee Machine
-       Newspaper and Magazine
-       In-Lounge Bathroom (No Shower Room available)
-       Prayer Room (I was not sure about that room but later figured out)

Summary

For around $26/person, we spend almost 5 hours in this lounge and tried literally everything it could offer. I think it is a great deal for us because our other option would be squeezing near the gate for 5 hours hearing all sorts of complains and curses and fighting for plug-ins. However, if it is only a short stay, I do not recommend the lounge because you are not going to get much out of it. In the end, most of us only arrive in the airports in the last minute because home is definitely better than lounge isn’t it. J
